How to care for BALAYAR Hair Extensions?

1. Washing

• Use a mild, sulfate-free shampoo, conditioner and use a hair mask once a week.
• Before washing, detangle hair with a wide-toothed comb or a special extension brush, starting at the ends and working towards the roots.
• Wash the extensions with lukewarm water and avoid rubbing or twisting the hair.
• Rinse thoroughly to remove all product residue.

2. Drying

• Gently squeeze excess water from the extensions with a towel. Avoid rubbing as this can cause tangling and damage.
• Preferably let the extensions air dry. If you use heat styling tools, apply a heat protection spray and use a low heat setting.

3. Styling

• Use heat styling tools sparingly to avoid damage. Always apply a heat protectant spray before using heat.
• Avoid sleeping with wet hair extensions to prevent tangles.
• Use alcohol-free styling products to maintain hair's natural shine and texture.

4. Storage

• Store the extensions in a dry and clean place when not in use.
• Keep them away from direct sunlight and heat sources as prolonged exposure may cause discoloration and damage.
• Use a satin or silk bag or a special hanger for extensions to prevent tangles and maintain the shape of the extensions.

5. Maintenance

• Brush twice a day, morning and evening, to avoid tangles.
• Trim the ends of your extensions regularly to remove split ends and maintain a healthy appearance.
• Avoid excessive brushing or combing, especially when hair is wet, to prevent breakage.
• Condition the extensions with a leave in conditioner to restore moisture and keep them soft and manageable.

• Excessive heat

Avoid frequent use of heat styling tools such as flat irons, curling irons and blow dryers. Heat can damage hair and reduce the quality of extensions. Always use a heat protectant spray before applying heat and use the lowest heat setting possible.

• Sleeping with wet hair

Try to avoid sleeping with wet hair extensions. Wet hair is more susceptible to tangles and can damage the extensions. If possible, let your hair air dry before going to bed. Braid before going to bed to avoid tangles.

• Chemical treatments

Be careful when using chemical treatments such as perms, dyes and bleaching on your hair extensions. These can affect the quality of the hair and change its structure.

• Long term exposure to chlorine and salt water

Avoid prolonged exposure to chlorinated water in swimming pools and salt water from the sea, as these substances can dry out, damage and discolour the hair. Rinse your hair extensions thoroughly after exposure to these elements and apply a nourishing mask to hydrate the hair.

Tips! To choose the right Length & Volume.

Length

It is important to understand that length is all about proportions. The taller you are, the shorter your extensions will look.

Make sure that the length of your extensions is no more than double the length of your natural hair. For example, if you have 20cm long hair, 45cm (18in) extensions are ideal for a seamless transition.

By choosing the ideal length, you also don't have to trim your own hair too much.

Volume

If you already have thick hair and are mainly looking to add length, we recommend getting extra volume so that your natural hair doesn't need to be trimmed at all or at all.

Keep in mind that the longer the extensions, the more grams you will need to create a naturally voluminous look.
