How to Maintain

Taking care of your installed weave extensions is crucial for maintaining their quality, appearance, and longevity. Here are some tips on how to care for your BALAYAR human hair extensions.

  1. Washing:
  • Dilute sulfate-free shampoo with water in a spray bottle.
  • Spray the diluted shampoo onto your scalp and gently massage it in.
  • Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, ensuring all shampoo is removed.
  • Apply a moisturizing conditioner to the lengths of the weave, avoiding the scalp and tracks.
  • Rinse out the conditioner thoroughly.
  • Allow the weave to air dry or use a hooded dryer on a low heat setting to dry completely.
  1. Moisturizing:
  • Apply a leave-in conditioner or moisturizing spray to the weave daily to keep it hydrated and prevent dryness.
  • Focus on the ends and lengths of the weave, avoiding the scalp and tracks.
  1. Avoiding excessive heat:
  • Limit the use of heat styling tools, such as flat irons and curling wands, as excessive heat can damage the weave and cause it to lose its natural luster.
  • If heat styling is necessary, use a heat protectant spray before applying heat and use the lowest heat setting possible.
  1. Nighttime care:
  • Before going to bed, wrap your weave with a satin or silk scarf or use a satin or silk pillowcase.
  • This helps to reduce friction, prevent tangling, and maintain the smoothness of the weave.
  1. Minimizing manipulation:
  • Avoid excessive touching, pulling, or combing through the weave, as this can lead to tangling and shedding.
  • Use a wide-toothed comb or a loop brush to gently detangle the weave, starting from the ends and working your way up to the roots.
  1. Protecting during physical activities:
  • When engaging in physical activities, such as swimming or exercising, protect your weave by wearing a swimming cap or tying it up in a ponytail or bun.
  • Minimize exposure to chlorinated or saltwater, as it can cause dryness and damage to the weave.
  1. Regular maintenance:
  • Schedule regular appointments with your stylist for maintenance and adjustments, including tightening or repositioning the weave as needed.
  • Follow the recommended maintenance schedule for your specific weave installation method.
